Torbreck RunRig Shiraz 2013

The intensity of the nose is evident immediately upon opening; dark cherry and hints of nutmeg come to the fore with an underlying profile of black olive, blackcurrant and plum. The palate is rich but silky, with deep red cherry fruits, clove, lavender and liquorice all interwoven with hints of sweet spice and cinnamon. Perfect for cellaring, if you have the patience.

98.5% Shiraz, 1.5% Viognier, de-stemmed by hand and basket-pressed into 45% new French barriques for 6 months to complete natural malolactic fermentation. Left on lees, and blended carefully after 30 months.
